Chinese New Year 2012

Image
January 23, 2012: This is my first time to spend Chinese New Year in Chinatown. This is actually my bf's idea. Since the 27th (today) is his birthday, we decided to have an advance celebration. Good thing the 23rd is also our monthsary, so it's a pretty good timing to celebrate two events in one day. I can say that the weather was on our side that day. Yes, it was sunny, but not humid, so I was quite surprised. In this tropical country, weather is changeable, so it is a good thing that this January is a pretty good-weathered month. Anyway, my bf and I met at the bus station at around 9:30am. Took the jeepney for a 5-minute ride going to Binondo. As expected, I can already see throng of people, many of them wearing red shirts as a sign of good fortune, going through the arch which serves as the 'gate' to Chinatown. There were so many vendors, selling different kinds of lucky charms (bracelets, dragon statues, fortune plants, etc.) Amateur and professional photog...

The Day I Turned 25

Image
It was my 25th birthday last June 26, and instead of celebrating it with my family, I decided to go out of town and meet mt boyfriend. The reason for this: boredom. I've spent many days in our house virtually alone almost everyday. My usual cure for boredom is reading books but since I haven't read anything for the past couple of days because I haven't bought any new books yet, I was stuck in the house watching tv. Not a good past-time, I think. I've been controlling myself from going to the nearby bookstore to browse and buy books, because I had planned to go to Manila for my birthday. Two days before my birthday, a typhoon surged and flooded many roads in out town and in Manila, so I was worried that my plan to go there might not pull through. Thankfully, on the night of the 25th, it stopped raining heavily already, and in the next morning, the 26th, the sky is still cloudy but there were no signs of an impending rain. At around 10am I took the bus going to Quezon Cit...

Happy Birthday Dats!

Today is my father's 55th birthday. Yeah, he's getting old. Haha. We'll have a birthday luncheon tomorrow and our relatives are coming. We're expecting more or less 30 people coming tomorrow. Wow. I bet it'll be a tiring day. But that's ok. ;-)

Bonding with Cousin

My whole day was spent today with my cousin. We hanged out together in two malls in Quezon City. We went window shopping/shopping, went to the three different bookstores and had food-trip, which was very enjoyable. We were on our feet almost the whole day that's why my feet are aching now. But I had a great time with her. I haven't had such bonding time with her for four months and I missed her and our chit-chat together. My cousin was like an older sister to me. She is all kindness and understanding, and she is one of those few people who never let her judgment of other people fail her. She has such a heart of gold.

This Happy Day

Spent the whole day today with my sweetie. Chatted the whole day and had food trip. I missed him terribly but am very happy and satisfied that we're able to spend another day together. I just love him more and more! :-)

Reunion with Friends

Three days ago, my friends and I were able to meet each other after almost 6 months. I was intensely happy and excited. This was the first time we went out together after 6 long months, and it was because of Joy finally going back to the Philippines. Of course, we missed her so much. Everyone missed each other too. And there are so many things that we had to catch up on. Joy treated us for dinner in a buffet restaurant, very delicious. And later that night, it was Chase's turn to treat us for coffee. Expectedly, he was the one talking almost all the time, which is okay since he was so funny. We are very glad that Joy is already here with us. She was such a presence to all of us. As for me, she was more than a friend. She was like an older sister, and it is she who keeps everything about our group organized. Good thing she will be staying here from now on.

Welcome Home!

My dear friend Joy has finally come back from the US! What a surprise! I was one of the very few people to announce her return. She wanted to make it a secret first. She wants me arrange for a meeting with our other dear friends. I know everybody will be happy with this pleasant surprise. Can't wait when we'll see each other again! Looking forward to it.

Missed him so much

After a month and a half of not seeing each other, me and my boyfriend were finally able to spend time together again. I missed him so much. With all the things he had gone through these past few weeks, I know I ought to make him happy

Home Sweet Home

We're finally home. Whew! After spending several days in the hospital, we were finally able to go back home. My mom had a herniorraphy and so I had to stay in the hospital with her for three days. Good thing everything went well with the operation; a few hours after the operation, she was able to eat and walk already. The only bad and the disappointing thing about the whole experience is the insurance company that was supposed to pay for her hospital bills. Shockingly, even a single cent was not paid by them! They talked about so many reasons, so many exceptions, which aren't valid of course. Why the hell is the purpose of that damned insurance if not to pay for their clients' health care fee?! And yet, they failed. Sh*t to all of them! Good thing we were able to settle everything within the day of her discharge, and was finally able to go back home. Well, this is what I can only say to those damn insurance b*st*rds: to hell to all of you!!!

A Day at the Mall

Today I went to Trinoma Mall in Quezon City with my brother. He intended to buy a Valentine's gift for his lady-love. Since I was pretty much bored staying in the house for many days, I decided to go with him. Since I will be going to Manila, I decided to cook something for my Sweeie and bring it to him. So I woke up early and cooked kare-kare. Then I took a bath and prepared to go. Since Sweetie had decided to have a day off today, I became excited to see him. We haven't seen each other for two weeks, and I really missed him. Anyway, my brother and I took the bus at 10am and arrived in the mall at 11. We met Sweetie there, and he and I decided to go around the mall just the two of us. I was able to buy a shirt and pants, and it only cost me 500 pesos. So inexpensive! Around 2pm, we met again with my bro and we decided to eat. I've been craving for a Burger King hamburger with fries so I bought a set of that. My brother also. Sweetie ate the kare-kare. Until now I'm s...
